dip or two in the pool.
Then hang out in front of the
fan in the breezeway until
round two and a quick game of
ball with Dad!

We love Entertaining, Spoiling, and just having Fun with Our Shorties.
We are proud to be able to offer the best of both worlds with lots of
Love, Playtime, Quiet Naps, and Extensive Social Interaction.
Our Shorties are a very important part of our family. They participate in every aspect of our daily lives.
Thanks to my husbands hard work our puppies/adults are fortunate to be able to share our personal family
home and also enjoy a more natural environment in our Brightjacks' Bed-n-Breakfast.
Our kennel is a fun filled place to just hang out in and also provides safe and necessary
accommodations during those times when we feel that privacy, separation, extra bed space,
or possibly even more important if unexpected medical conditions are needed to isolate a
puppy/adult for a short time.

Birth To Placement
Our Puppies are whelped in our home, ensuring constant monitoring, during the first
3 weeks. Then weather permitting, mom and her puppies are then moved to our spacious kennels
preparing for the next phase of their maturing process. Here they will be able to enjoy allot more
room to run, play, and exercise their legs, in our 50' X 60" Spacious Climate Controlled Kennel
Brightjacks Kennels, an essential part of our socialization, independence, and weaning, with
continued daily individualized care till placement with their New Parents/Families.

New Adventures
From 3- 5 weeks our Puppies are safe with mom in our Individual Puppy Beds
Making the transition from inside our home to a safe natural means of exposing them to their
new exciting digs. Setting them up for new challenges, peaking their curiosity and preparing them
for their future weaning to proceed without interruption, in a well ventilated already familiar
atmosphere. This gives mom more freedom to move about, while also allowing her puppies to
interact and begin to co-exist with their extended family.

Now It's Time For Our Little Ones To Graduate
Into their very own Fun and Adventurous "Shortie's At Play"
Starting at 6 weeks, we introduce new surroundings for them to run, play and climb on their
junior size play house, packed full of chews, toys, tunnels and ropes to play with.
They can even test their skill level with their junior size Tether Ball, set up just for the little
ones. Tug of war is still their favorite though.
I love sitting out in my swing, watching their behaviors as they mature.
This gives me a better idea as to which puppies seem to be more alpha or submissive as they
establish their place in the group.

Daily Group Activities
In order to keep our shorties well socialized, we feel it is very important to make sure that we
offer lots of group activity to keep them focused.
Our whole daily routine is run very much like a day care facility.
We provide, socialization and playtime activities in large groups of both males/females.
Most of the time everyone gets along great, but then there are days that you wonder which side
of the bed he/she got up on. So we also have time out. Sharing is not always an option for
some of these little terriers. They need to be reminded just who is the Alpha here
So when sharing becomes an issue during pool/playtime, mommy provides a nice little place
for those that like to test the waters - to dry out alone.

We Provide Safe and Secure Fencing
We also have made sure that we provide safe secure perimeter fencing for our shorties with,
6' chain link fencing doubled with 6' privacy fencing, with added secure dig proof barrier.
We feel that safety is just as important as any other aspect of care.
Thanks to my husbands hard work, I can focus my time on enjoyment with our shorties.
Not having to worry that someone might dig out and become lost, stolen or hit by a car.
We are very careful with our babies after all they are our children.

When Love Is In The Air...We Kennel Our Couples
The Foundation of Our Breeding Program Is
Proper Facilities, Ethical Breeding Practices and Professionalism
During Breeding, We feel private courtship is a Must
As a Responsible Breeder with several intact males, It is my duty to my families, to provide
adequate facilities to ensure that the courtship of a select breeding pair is not interrupted with
an unexpected visit from another male looking to cut in on the dance.
IMO, Sadly this happens more than many families ever know about, especially when numerous
intact dogs are housed inside a family home without adequate facilities.
Separate facilities, not only guards against accidental multi coverage by several males, but also
reduces the opportunities for accidental - In Breeding, which can lead to early
Immune Disorders and additional Health Related Issues later in life.
We are thankful for the additional climate controlled housing this facility provides.
Our Shorties are Family Raised, But also Appropriately Kenneled when necessary.
Our Happy Couples enjoy climate controlled night kennels with private sheltered individual
chain link dig proof paddocks during the day, complete with their own personal mini pool.
This gives each couple the much needed privacy and non competitive territory during
breeding/socializing until we feel that a female has completed her cycle and is openly ready
to return with the group. We make sure that several times a day, all current breeding males and
females are supervised in select groups to make sure that they continue to participate in our
daily routine of Socialized Group Activities.

Brightjacks Private Pool
Our shorties enjoy plenty of safe footing on their huge deck with a 8' pool.
Allowing our shorties to play and sun bathe, with easy access, in and out of the pool.
We have found that our shorties would rather swim and play in the pool than anything else.
There are days that the pool is so crowded that there is no room
left to sit or stand. I love seeing my babies so happy!!!
